If you have been in Amsterdam, or other place in Netherland, you would instantly notice that the water is everywhere. Most of Dutch land is under the sea level, as you recalled the story of this little hero boy hold his finger to seal the leaking dam to save the entire city. The real heroes (include females) are actually the ones who designed the Windmills. It was only during my second time visiting Netherland, I noticed how interesting the Dutch windmills are beside serving as the photo props! Windmills are working 24x7, on the most basic two elements the nature consistently provides, the wind 风, and the water 水. With the wind force, they were pushing the excess water from the inland to the open sea. The majority of the vast Dutch farmland used to feed millions was rescued from under the sea by the Windmills. Windmills also severed cutting the wood, grinding the grain, and even, ground the stone made the oil paint Rembrandts was using! I took the following photos on a trip to Dutch country side in the Spring of 2019.
